A note on terminology used on this page: BCC Supplies does not lend money. A BCC Supplies membership is a commercial installment contract, reported to the business credit bureaus as a business installment tradeline β some pages also describe this as an "installment loan" in a descriptive sense, not a cash loan from a lender. See how this is structured β
The SBA suspended 7,800 Wisconsin borrowers on July 8, 2026, tied to $375 million in suspected fraudulent pandemic-era loans.1 That single state action is part of a much larger sweep: SBA now counts over 150,000 borrowers suspended across five states, tied to more than $10 billion in suspected fraud.1
The other four states named so far: 112,000 California borrowers tied to $8.6 billion in suspected fraud, 27,000 Ohio borrowers tied to $1.1 billion, 6,900 Minnesota borrowers tied to $400 million, and additional borrowers tied to $93 million in a smaller state action.1 This is on top of an April referral package β the largest in SBA history β covering over 560,000 suspected fraudulent borrowers tied to $22 billion.1
SBA suspension is a program-integrity action against the federal loan file, not a bureau tradeline entry by itself β but the underlying facts (a defaulted or fraud-flagged federal loan, a charge-off, a referral to Treasury for collection) absolutely do reach D&B, Experian Business, and Equifax Business through standard furnisher reporting.1 If your EIN was ever attached to a PPP or EIDL loan now under suspicion, expect any resulting default or referral to surface as a derogatory public record or collection line on your business credit report, the same way any other defaulted federal obligation would.
This matters because business credit bureaus build their files from a mix of public records, court filings, and furnisher data β SBA's own referrals to Treasury and the Department of Justice are exactly the kind of federal-record event that eventually feeds those files.1 A clean business credit file today does not protect a business that borrowed under a program now being audited retroactively.
Separate from the fraud enforcement news, SBA announced on August 14, 2026 a new 90% Energy Guarantee available to small businesses across the energy production supply chain through its Increased Trade Loans (ITL) program.2 A 90% guarantee is notably higher than the standard 75% guarantee typically available under related SBA programs, giving lenders more incentive to fund businesses in this sector.2
SBA says it has already approved $110 million in capital through its existing 90% Made in America Guarantee and $82 million through its 90% Grocery Guarantee since May 2026, giving a sense of the pace at which these targeted 90% guarantee programs are moving capital.2
Any SBA-guaranteed loan you take on β energy sector or otherwise β still gets underwritten against your business's credit file, and increasingly against your FICO SBSS score specifically. A higher federal guarantee percentage lowers the lender's risk, but it does not lower the bar on what your business credit file needs to show before a bank will originate the loan in the first place.
Lenders participating in ITL and similar SBA guarantee programs still pull D&B, Experian Business, and Equifax Business data as part of standard underwriting, the same bureau data any commercial lender relies on. A thin or undocumented file β no trade tradelines, no reporting history β can slow down or sink an application even when the federal guarantee itself is generous.
If your business ever received a PPP or EIDL loan, check your standing directly with SBA rather than waiting to find out through a bureau report or a collection notice. If you're in the energy production supply chain and considering an SBA-guaranteed loan under the new 90% Energy Guarantee, get your business credit file in order before you apply β that means active, reporting tradelines, not just a clean personal credit score.2
Neither of these SBA actions changes the basic mechanics of how a business credit file gets built: consistent, on-time reporting from real furnishers, over time, is still what a lender or bureau algorithm actually reads. A federal guarantee program can open a door; it can't substitute for a credit file with something in it.

A BCC Supplies membership is a commercial installment contract reported to the business credit bureaus as a business installment tradeline β a straightforward way to build the documented payment history lenders and SBA-participating banks look for, no matter which federal program you eventually apply through.
See Your Options βBCC Supplies is not affiliated with the U.S. Small Business Administration, D&B, Experian, or Equifax; we don't process SBA loans or fraud reviews. What we do is report a commercial installment contract to the major business credit bureaus as a tradeline, giving you documented payment history to bring to any lender β SBA-guaranteed or otherwise.
